Power and Authority through Jesus Christ

I am Malungelo Masuku, an international trainee at Impact University. I am from Eswatini (known as Swaziland) and came to Impact University last September. For the past six months, I have seen my life be transformed, growing from one level of glory to another.

I first heard about Impact from the Bible Society in Eswatini. They sent me to come learn more about God and Biblical Leadership. When I arrived here, I received so much love and care, and a lot of support. The students, instructors, and staff make you feel at home in this place. It is a great place to be for spiritual growth and life transforming lessons.

Since I arrived at Impact University, God has restored a lot of things in my life. For a long time, my prayer life was no longer as impactful as it used to be. But after attending the Ministry of Prayer class, my prayer life changed. I began to learn that there are different kinds of prayers one needs to pray for different situations. I learned to allow the leading of the Holy Spirit in prayer and bubbling up in groaning that cannot be uttered. I had been praying the same tongues for a long time, but when I began attending the prayer class and practicing in class what we were learning, I began to pray in different kinds of tongues and was lifted up in my spirit. I have learned to listen to the promptings and cues inspired by the Holy Spirit to help me make a lot of decisions in my life.

I also took a Spiritual Warfare class, which taught me about the two major spiritual wars between God and Satan and how the outcome led to the power and authority we now have in Christ Jesus as believers. The first war is believed to be between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, where Lucifer, who was an angel of worship, tried to rise against God with his angels for the Throne. He thought to himself he could rise above God and take over the throne and be the ruler of all. But the archangel Michael, who is the angel of war, with the angels under him, fought against Lucifer and his angels and prevailed. Lucifer was cast out of heaven to the earth and defiled the earth, hence Genesis 1:2 when the earth was formless. The second war happened when Jesus died on the Cross and went to Hades to fight against the devil to take the keys of life and death, which the devil had gotten from Adam in the garden of Eden. After the Lord Jesus Christ won this battle, God raised Him up above all principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and the spirits of wickedness, and God enthroned Jesus at His own right hand. As God lifted up Jesus, He quickened us together with Him, raised us up together with Him, and enthroned us together with Him. 

Understanding that we who believe have the same power Christ has in heaven helped me understand the scope of my authority as a believer in Christ. I now pray more confidently and boldly in the Name of Jesus, knowing that I am above any form of evil through Christ Jesus. I can speak life in any situation, during any attack the devil may have against me. Yes, things may not always change immediately in the physical after I have prayed, but the faith I have in Christ and the power and ability He has given me keeps me going. And lately I have seen the manifestation of the things I am praying about.
